About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive intern to join our Finance team. The intern will support financial record-keeping and reconciliation processes for dedicated stores e.g local markets. This role offers hands-on experience in core finance operations, with exposure to inventory, sales reporting, and variance analysis. Your knowledge of cost accounting and management accounting will come in handy.

We'll trust you to:

  • Accurately record purchases made for assigned store.
  • Update and track daily sales data from agents.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all financial entries.
  • Document spoilage and damaged goods reported by store/market agents.
  • Assist in analysing spoilage trends and highlighting discrepancies.
  • Reconcile purchases, sales, and spoilage with agent reports.
  • Identify and investigate variances in stock and cash flow.
  • Work closely with agents to resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist in preparing summary reports on purchases, sales, spoilage, and reconciliations.
  • Provide insights on patterns, risks, and potential cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with agents and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
