We are seeking a lead FinOps engineer to join our Internal Measurement team and help us establish and
lead a formal FinOps practice. You will help in designing, building, and implementing a comprehensive
cloud cost management framework covering cost optimization, attribution, forecasting, and governance.
In this role, you will directly influence our bottom line by managing costs incurred by our significant
cloud footprint across both AWS and GCP including attribution of that spend back to specific products
and business initiatives. This financial visibility is critical for empowering our engineering and product
teams to innovate efficiently and sustainably. This is your chance to shape Samba TV's cloud future and
embed a culture of cost-consciousness and discipline across the organization.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Develop, communicate, and drive cloud cost initiatives across our organization.
- Create tools and dashboards that provide stakeholders in Product, Engineering, and Finance with visibility and actionable insights into their cloud spend.
- Identify and analyze the key drivers of cloud costs and report findings to budget owners.
- Build and maintain models for cloud cost forecasting, spend anomaly detection, and cost attribution.
- Manage our employment of AWS Savings Plans or GCP Committed-Use Discounts.
WHO YOU ARE
- Extensive experience navigating the cost and billing systems of AWS or GCP. Must have a proven track record of diving into CURs or GCP Billing Reports to drive resource optimization and financial accountability.
- Must be knowledgeable in the area of FinOps and able to put its principles into practice.
- Must be able to write code with a proven ability to develop internal tools and automation to manage cloud resources programmatically. While Python is our primary language, we value a strong command of any modern language used for cloud automation and API integration.
- Must be proficient in SQL and able to dig deeply into cost/usage reports, as well as other cost-relevant activity logs.
- Experience with Terraform and cloud-based Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) is desirable.
- Familiarity with cost aspects of Databricks and Snowflake is desirable.

255000 - 320000 PLN a year
Samba TV expects to offer a base salary between 255000 - 320000 PLN per year for roles to be performed in Warsaw actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including but not limited to, location, experience, and performance. Base salary is just one component of Samba TV’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives.
